Welcome to the Drimpton village website
We are a small rural community in West Dorset made up of the village of Drimpton and its neighbouring hamlets of Netherhay and Greenham. We hope you find your online visit to our community useful, helpful and even entertaining.
Dorset Home Library Service
Dorset Home Library Service
Due to the Covid restrictions we are currently delivering this as a Doorstep Service:
'Although our much-loved Home Library Service had to be suspended due to the Coronavirus situation, we are now providing a temporary non-contact Doorstep Delivery Service to those that cannot easily get to their local library, either short term or long term. Our volunteers have strict safety guidelines and all necessary risk assessments have been carried out. Books are chosen by staff at each library, based on individual preferences, and made ready for our volunteers to pick up and deliver to our clients' front doors. The volunteers will not enter the house, and they will keep a safe distance at all times; they can also pick up books and return them to the library. This service is entirely free and is available across Dorset and BCP areas. We are keen to let more people know that it is available to them if they find themselves unable to get to the library. To find out more please contact Maria Jacobson, Service Manager Dorset Home Library Service, on 01305 236666 or 07786 635154
ROYAL OAK update
“Due to the Government announcement that we are in National Lockdown the bar will be closed until we get the go ahead to re-open. But we are still doing our takeaway menu and our Sunday roast. I would like to thank everyone for their continued support.”
Keep safe and well. Cheers.
